Babies born to overweight mother are prone to obesity
December 01, 2005
Recent finding suggests that expectant mothers who overindulge
may be condemning their children to a lifetime of obesity. Although
pregnant women are required to gain weight as part of a healthy
pregnancy but two separate studies have suggested that children
born to women who've put on excess weight during pregnancy are likely
to become overweight in later stages of their life.
Studies involving thousands of mothers have suggested that weight
gain in excess of 16 kg during pregnancy will lead to babies being
overweight by the age of 3. Therefore, mothers are required to control
their weight even during their pregnancy for the safety and well
being of their child.
